hey freshies.

due to his tank being converted to marine, i am looking to put a synodonotus[sp] catfish in a tank with goldfish. the tank is a reasonable size, has good water parameters, and does not drop below 24 deg. can anyone give me a good reason that i should not put the catfish in this tank? [the missus wont let me get rid of it, so this is the only option i have, apart from having a complete tank setup for 1 fish]

Im not sure however i did read somwhere that when keeping marine fish, due to them being so much more delicate than tropicals, its best to have them in a brand new tank altogether. I know this because i was planning on keeping marines before i got my tropicals. I am stil hopfully getting tropicals in may! anyway good luck what ever you decide. But i would also like to add marine fish cannot be added until the nitrite cycle has finished. a good nitrite tolerant marine fish is the clown fish! There rather pritty too  But i definatly recommend you get a brand new tank for your marines because of how much more sensitive they are. When i first concidered marines i asked the man in the shop about tank, and he adviced me to get a new tank, so im forwarding the advice to you good luck whatever you decide. :D
