Aqua
Hi guys! I've just had one of the managers at my work ask me this question.. She's got a tank with some goldfish in it, and she's added a couple of gold algae eaters a few days ago. Since then she's noticed that the biggest comet has some scales change colour & his tail is all frayed. D'ya think this could be the algae eaters? All her other fish are fine. She says he's not all bloated and pine-cone like, so I think the most likely cause (without actually seeing the fish) would be the algae eaters? Aqua
Quick update - I've now been told that the fish has gone white, and he's swimming on a 45º angle at the top. It also sounds like he's gulping for air...

nickyboi
Sounds like the problems caused by the algae eater have allowed diesese to set in
Caryl
Those algae eaters are good at sucking the protective slime off fish
mrshanepaul
Tell hom to get [EDIT]SIAMESE[/EDIT] algae eaters - they are awesome. HummingBird
Golden algae eaters are just the albino form of the Chinese algae eaters. Both kinds like to attack other fish.

Aqua
it's a coldwater goldfish tank. I thought SAE's were tropical?
mrshanepaul
Didn't say if it was tropical, people put goldfish in everything. Ok, so don't get SAE. Whack the guy who sold you GAE.
