Pies
OK. I am unaware of the 'chineese alge eater'. Have you got a link or something with some info/pics?
Caryl
A very common fish in aquariums. http://www.exotictropicals.com/encyclo/ ... ealgae.htm
Rob
Re Pies question about what live food to feed Can't comment on how polluting they are but here are some suggestions. White worms - most fish seem to love them and are good for a treat (sort of like chocolate for us, ie irristable but high in fat) Wingless fruitfly - good for any surface feeders, can be troublesome to culture (not necessarily difficult but old cultures can get smelly) Daphnia - not sure about the nutritional content but sure get the fish swimming to get them - supposedly too many can have a laxative effect. Warren
Go to this link if you want fish to eat red algae. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?t=135 These fish are awesome algae munchers, the best I've ever tried for most algae types and by far the best for red beard algae. Pies
Agreee, I have 5. 0 algae issies, good tame fish. Good to watch school. I've had some for maybee 2 + years too, so they are quite hardy. Jane has put some small ones in her tank when the RED HAIR ALGAE OF DOOM arrived. She now has none and 3 FAT SFFs
