simfish
I have 2 900mm flourescent aquarium tubes built into the hood of my 4 foot tank, I have extensive plants with CO2 (home made and nutrifin), fertilizer substrate, etc. How long daily must I leave the lights on? livebearer_breeder
It’s up to the Aquarist really. I’d have them on for at least 12 hours a day. Shae
Bluetom
12-14 would be my advice. That little tank of mine has them on for 13 i think
alanmin4304
As much as you can get away with and avoid an algae bloom. Your plants will need to be properly established before they will realy start using nutrient. With CO2 the process should be quicker. Start slowly and increase as you can. livebearer_breeder
Then I suggest not doing a water change till a week or more depending on stocking, after you have purchased the fish. Shae
alanmin4304
I would agree with Shae. Dont change the water but introduce the fish slowly

livebearer_breeder
any ideas? It depends on your bubbles count, which depeneds on your type of diffuser as to how much/little you can use, for it to be effective etc. Im no expert but i have heard of people, useing a 5kg bottle lasting a year and upwards.
