Hi all.

The people plastering my garage let some of their plaster fall in the tank. I had a huge plastic sheet covering it, i have no idea how it got in. I cleaned most of it out but i was wondering what the chemicals in it would do to my tank.

The chemicals are.

Calcium Sulphate Hemihydrate 65-95%

Mica 2-6%

Modified Cellulose 0-!%

Keratin 0-2%

Crystine Silico 0-2.5%

Any help would be much apreciated  :bounce:

Calcium Sulphate Hemihydrate tastes AWFUL... but it's really not toxic at all. I'm speaking from personal experience (with humans) but can't really see it hurting fish.

Mica is definitely not toxic in any way, though it may irritate lungs. Glad that's not a problem!

Cellulose - nah

Keratin - well, yer fishies will be seeing better in the dark!

Crystine Silico - I'm guessing Crystaline Silicates on this one. May be dangerous if in powder form but doubtful if it would be harmful to fish.

If anyone wants to correct me on these, feel free. This is just my opinion but then again.... I've never dropped any of these in a fish tank to "test the waters"

Good luck and let us know if anything bad happens. Oh, and good luck cleaning up the mess!
