skuzza
Best time we found was from 9pm to 1am.Lots of life scooped up when collecting(shrimps, fish). No one around and no boats to stir it up.

Feelers
You guys could put a light at the end of the pump hose. The bugs you get at night are crazy compared to the day ones, and they will swim straight for the intake. We did this on a marine bio field trip, some really weird stuff in there, even 2 bob tailed squids. Heaps of small shrimps and crab paralarvae. HelifaxNZ
Besides from high tide, when's a good time of day to collect NSW? i.e. in morning or in evening before a certain time?
jetskisteve
I got 80L last night at 7.
wasp
Time of day is not important unless like Feelers you're trying to get plankton and stuff. More important is wind, tide, etc.
HelifaxNZ
JetSki... I was going to go down last night, but didn't have my tank drained. Will go down tonight or tomorrow. Do you just back your car down the ramp and pump up the water? Or do you do the manual work of buckets? After all I did see about 100 bucket left

wasp
Helifax, I'm going to be there tonight (Takapuna) around or shortly before 8.00 pm. If you're heading down, give me a call on 027 4725 914 shortly after 7.00 pm, I'll have a better idea exactly what time I'll be there. HelifaxNZ
Will do. Hope to see you down there. Anyone else is most welcome. Probably between 7 and 8pm. Would you like to pop down again Jetski? Grab another 80 litres or at least another 20 litres since I'll be grabbing 20 from you some stage soon. HelifaxNZ
Thanks Wasp for your help and hints and tips. It was most welcomed. Definately easier to use the buckets with the lids! I've filled up the tank and everything seems fine so far. Next visit will be JetSki for some LR.
cracker
You guys read my post a little wrong. I collect from Okura River, not Wenderholm.
