Jimmy
I am making a light for my tank and need a bit of your guys knowledge. The lights that i am putting in say that they are not suitable for electronic switches/remote controls. Does that mean that i can not put it on a timer?? Your input would be much appreciated. Brianemone
a timer only turns lights on and off, if they are not designed to be turned on and off you shouldnt use them.

I guess you couldn't use candles on an electronic timer

Brianemone
are you going to put a glass lid between the lights and the water? i would reccomend it oh and going on your track record you might want to completly seal them in case they drop into the water.
Jimmy
Well is says that you can not enclose them so i might have to be a bit more careful. And i dont know if i will put glass on the bottom. How high off the tank will be safe if i dont put glass in.
Brianemone
you dont have to have it enclosed, i would put a little fan in the back as well to keep it cool
Jimmy
im guessing i can hook it up to my lights. On the same plug?
Brianemone
yeah, when the lights go on the computer fan goes on. that way you can have it boxed off and the fan will ventilate the hood and keep the temp down
