Tony.Bates
OK, so my first tank (AR980) is filled, has substrate, loads of plants, heaters, balanced PH, a bubbler and one very small snail who arrived with the plants, now its the fun part, shopping for residents! So far my list of potential inmates includes: Pearl Danios 7 Tertras 20 Bristlenose catfish 3 Veil Tail Guppies 10 Convict cichlids 7 Glass Catfish 5 Panda Cory 3 Southern Platy 5 Can anyone suggest what else might go nicely in with this lot? I'm aiming for a community tank, with lots of schooly fish. Maybe a snail or two. The number of fish by the type is indicative, I havent calculated how close I am to filling the tank yet. jude
I'm not sure about adding convicts to that mix - I thought they would be too agresssive. What sort of tetras are you thinking of? Cheers Jude
HummingBird
Yeah, have either convicts, or plants & the other fish. Not both, the convicts would destroy pretty much everything.
Tony.Bates
Good to know about the Convicts! Scratch them from the list!!! The little Neon Tetras, (Paracheirodon innesi I think)
Caryl
Also, I would be wary of tetras with guppies (depending on which ones you are thinking of)
Wok
If they were baby convicts... shouldn't that be ok? I got one with my port Hoplos
minchton
How do you stop "Baby" convicts from growing up. I have just been to a house where the local fish shop sold them convicts for a community tank. The convicts fed well and the guppies and neons and platties strangely dissappeared.
Caper
Also, I would be wary of tetras with guppies (depending on which ones you are thinking of) Why is this Caryl? I have neons & a couple of black neons with my guppies.
Caryl
Some tetras like to chase the guppy tails Caper - not the neons though
