chimera
great to see alot more people getting into marine
wasp
Yes, kind of noticed that myself! Is it more getting into marine, or are more starter uppers finding the site? If so, and the site can be of assistance to help them succeed, we will end up with a larger number of reefers, a good thing for everybody! Brianemone
unless they get caught up one of the mud slinging matches and then they go away
chimera
 we're all (mainly) adults about these things, and all friends at the end of the day. i dont hold any grudges against people (pies? ) who i sometimes have 'debates' against! in fact, i hold alot of respect for most people on this site. everyone has their special interest and likes to have an opinion. wasp
As a mudslinger myself, I think even the mudslinging matches will often inspire useful info. Also of note is the way everybody follows them for entertainment purposes. Ha Ha. Sometimes though mudslinging threads will inspire information so useful it is in fact useless, such as this little gem from a recent mudslinging thread Quote - "I knew reasonable flow velocity had an effect, just couldnt remember what on earth it was about fritctional loss in pipes - "From equation 1 we know that the flow velocity is inversely proportional to the square of the pipe diameter"
Jettin
Thanks alot guys, Brianemone: parameters Ammonia- 0 Nitrite- 0 Nitrate- undetectable (salifert) Phosphate- 2 PH- 8.3 sg- 1.025 temp- 24.5ish calcium- 350 alk- 7.5ish Overflow was like a toilet! but i shoved an elbo piece ontop, cant see it because its black and faces the other way and it stopped the noise Not too worried about the calc and alk atm as im going to be sorting that out when the big tank is up. Ive been reading alot on the site before i actually registered but have noticed heaps of lil arguments around, and yes i would think it would put people off. jetskisteve the bug has bit hard, musta been a big bug, coz ive sold all my discus now.......... will be in touch with you soon.
