zallyn
Hi all Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. I followed a link that Caryl posted on another site to your fine forum in hopes of making a few new friends. Thats one of the things I like best about this hobby (obsession) folks are for the most part just plain nice, and always willing to help a fellow hobbiest. My name is Alain. I'm 41 and live in northern Vermont, USA I've had the same wife and job for over 20 years, we have 5 children ages 23, 16, 15, 14 and 5. I do industrial piping for a living. I keep fish and compete in mixed martial fighting for hobbies. The fish addiction started a little over 6 years ago when Mrs. Z bought me a 29 gallon tank, stand and canopy for my birthday, I was quite content with the one tank for about a year and then one day I found myself doing a fish search on the internet.....boy was that ever the begining, I found cichlids, african cichlids to be exact, seems like the tanks just started accumulating after that I've gone through most of the stages since then, too many tanks, too many fish, buying too much stuff I really did not need, all has seemed to settle down a little over the past few years. I currently run 9 tanks, 2- 125, 3-75, 3-55, a 40 breeder and of course the original 29 at Mrs. Z's office, we don't count that one since it is not at home. I keep Frontosa, Tropheus, Synodontis and fancy plecos, theres usually some haps peacocks and mbuna around but they come and go, the aforementioned stay. I've taken an active part in the management of a site called www.nycichlids.com over the past year, not your typical fish forum site by any means but then again I'm not considered to be very typical, stop by and say hi if you should so choose to. Got a pretty nice place here Caryl, I think I'll stop in from time to time and see whats up Just another pic
