Spinning cichlids

Just after we done a water change today, one of our auratus started spinning around un-controlably and had no sense of direction... any ideas what made this fish do that? He has since died so we cant help him but is it a disease or parasite???

i had one yellow fry about 5cm do that didn't find out what it was :-?

Was there any way toxins could of got into the water? eg; Dirty hands, bucket been used for something else....

or

If it was a big water change 50% or more, the water parimeters could of been different to the tank.

what are the rest of the fish in tank doing?

herefishiefishie is onto it i think,to bigger waterchange can do strange thing's to your fishies and water chemistry.but if that, other tank members should be acting strange too.

Hmmm ok done a 20% water change... couldnt have been anything on my hands cause it was the 2nd or 3rd water change i had done, temp was roughly the same... ph would have been different from the tap water to tank water.... ph of tank is 7.6 to 7.8 and tap water is 7 Brain at Goldfish bowl said it could have been the fishes lateral line that somehow got disrupted but couldnt see how a water change could do it... Im putting it down to the water change... maybe the fish decided to go through the water being poured in and got slammed into a rock or something...

Or seeing as it is only one fish,

Another fish smashed him, though to smash an auratus, have to be a mean fish.

or

if the fish bolted when you did the water change & it run into a ornament, side of tank.....
