Pies
Real productive statement. About as productive as that statement, or this one for that matter. I was just aknowledging that i'd seen the tank before, filed in the 'how to do something poorly' pile. Read about how well its all going now. Muppet. Monaro1 - Absoulty not, all I can think is that he is over compensating for something Pie
madcookie
Damn, wish I had the space, money, and understanding partner, to allow me one of those. Thats one of the most incredibly COOL salt setups I've seen. Wonder if he still does water changes using a bucket tho....?
madcookie
If you really (REALLY) want to know what/how the issues are with turbulence in pipe work, here the link to end all debate. Please, dont take your PVC pipe off to a motor tuning expert for polishing. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/ ... turejp.htm Oh and finally, If the three guys writing this article are incorrect, fine. Just dont go thinking you can convince me this is the case.....
chimera
This is EXACTLY what I have stated throughout this post and in fact, it is the very article I read about 6 months ago when setting up my tank and is what I based some of my facts on... I think this sentence on that link re-emphasizes my argument: From this equation it is quite clear that the flow velocity has a big impact on frictional losses I knew reasonable flow velocity had an effect, just couldnt remember what on earth it was about fritctional loss in pipes - "From equation 1 we know that the flow velocity is inversely proportional to the square of the pipe diameter"
monaro1
ok please explain in english to a simpel man.
wasp
Monaro, you don't need all that stuff, it's nice but not essential. In a marine tank you need a good amount of water movement, many ways to achieve that.
