clarkeymaster
Is it ok if you leave lighting on for than 12 hours a day, does it affect the fish and plants, i leave them on 12 hours+ a day and sometimes they may only be off for a few hours in a day. i do this to encourage algae growth on my tanks for the b/n's and alike to munch on that but is it affecting anything leaving the lights on so long. Snowman
From what i understand they should be off for 8hrs or more for the plants to rest LOL Guess that means you can have them on for up to 16 hrs a day the, you may find the fish are happier being able to rest in darkness for 8 hrs as well. Caryl
It isn't really good to keep them on for too long as the fish need to rest and the plants need the cycle to photosynthesise properly
BK
Plants only need 4 hours ligths off and this will also give best vegative growth and to induce flowering ligth need to be off for 12-1/4 hours don't know about the fish sorry.
