Brianemone
pheonix is highly rated but not very available. XM are another good one because of the cost (www.reefdepot.com.sg)
wasp
I've got some brand new 14,000k 150 watt DE's for sale, $125.00 each. Good bulbs, just I'm only using 10,000k now.

wasp
You are correct they are not highly regarded going by what I have read on Reef Central. But don't throw them away just because of the brand, how old are they? Buying a new bulb can be a bit of a crap shoot, there are so many variables. reef
Sylvania 10000k 150 MH is what i am using at the moment. I have been told its not the best bulb It all comes down how you want the tank to look, some people like blue, some like white etc, i am sure that bulb should be ok for the corals. The syvania bulbs do show a bit of a green colour however they do show good growth in corals. Just wait until you have used it for a year and then try another brand. There is no such thing as the best bulb.
Kermit
Cant say i've had any problems they seem to be doing well in my tank the corals seem to grow and haven't had any failures, but cant say i've run anything else either.
