HummingBird
Ok so I've used some silicone to repair this sponge filter of mine. I see now it says it's not meant for sustained submersion (EG FISH TANKS!!)...what will happen if I use it in a tank?
kbird
Nothing, until it pulls away from the glass and then  ring the insurance company. The adhesion value of some silicones are not great as far as water is concerned.
Alan
If it is the alkaline cure, ie, didn't smell like a vinegary harsh scent when applying, then your tank is toxic. The stuff plumbers get carried away with, is lethal to fish. Alan
HummingBird
Thanks guys, I've ended up removing it from the filter. Not worth the risk.
Lucid
the one you want to get is 202 clear, red and blue tube from your local hardware store, or you can get the silaflex glass rtv which is a blue tube. B
