Snowman
Nice fish Billaney, i was thinking about getting a pair of lyretails similar colour from Hollywood fishfarm but had heard that because of the long finnage the males gonopodium is ummm... limp and as such they are unable to breed. Are they capable of spawning like normal swords? I know what you mean, got a tank with well over 100 guppies but saw one i liked and had to have it LOL

Snowman
Cool, thanks for that, might have to get a pair and make sure the male is young, i like the look of your other swords in the background, i haven't seen any like that before, i've got silver with green stripes but the red tail and fins looks awesome, been to Hollywood every weekend for the last 6 mths and never seen anything like them, might have to go for a tiki tour around Auck this weekend LOL
Faran
In this post LBB tells how to "fix" the limp noodle boys. Sounds like a circumcision to me! Ah well, if you're that keen on breeding your fish til the day they die.... Stunning little lady, Billaney. Was she in the new shipment at Hutt Pets? Went by there this morning but got a call and had to leave without any fish
Snowman
I like the "its easy" & "simply" bits. Not the sort of thing i would do to my fish, sounds painfull and a bit extreme, think i'll just go for the younger ones LOL Sends a shiver up my spine just thinking about surgery there
Alan
You can also use a/i, but you'd needto read up on it. The sperm is collected from the male and the female is impregnated using a blunt very small bore syringe. Alan 104 PS and circumcision is also on the cards. Snowman
Sounds a bit techo and clinical, i'll give the natural way a go before trying other methods, a couple of options if that doesn't work.
