Shannon
I didn't know where to put this story but since its about a pleco I thought I would put it here. We have two Plecos and recently moved one into a two foot tank for the time being as they aren't seeing eye to eye. Well anyway Stripey in the two foot tank has been sulky and hiding, so yesterday I put some dwarf gouramis in there. Soon as they were introduced Stripey perked up swam around the tank looking very lively. About an hour later I look in the tank and Stripey was laying on his back on the gravel tummy in the air, (I thought I may have to preform mouth to gill resuscitation). On a closer look I noticed he had a pea in his mouth and was sucking away quite happly, he saw me looking at him so he scooted on his back to under the filter to finish his pea. Once finished he went back his normal position and went around cleaning gravel and glass. I just wondering if anyone elses Plecos lie on their backs like this? Caryl
Because of the shape of their mouth they can eat in any position they like
caserole
 Pleco's are like that . had a friend with a 2foot sailfin pleco that would belly up at the top of the tank just under the feeding hole to receive it's cube of tubifex worms. it would then sink to the bottem righting it's self and chop away. liked a scratch on it's belly too.
