golfextremely
Hey everyone, I've been pondering an interesting question lately: Do trout eat frogs? It's a topic that seems to stir up some debate among anglers and nature enthusiasts. While trout are well-known for their voracious appetites and diverse diets, including insects, crustaceans, and smaller fish, the idea of them preying on amphibians like frogs seems plausible yet intriguing. Some argue that trout may indeed consume frogs opportunistically, especially in habitats where both species coexist. Others suggest that due to differences in habitat preference and behavior, such interactions might be rare. I'd love to hear your thoughts and any experiences you've had regarding this curious topic! Caryl
Fish are opportunist feeders so would eat anything that came their way. NZ brown trout feed on all sorts of arthropods like koura (native crayfish) as well as small fish, frogs and even mice if the opportunity arises.
