Bluetom
I was just wonderin if anyone could tell me a sure fire way to tell if a female guppy is going to give birth in say the next 12 hours. I have a couple that look like they could give birth soon, but want to keep all the fry so need to get them out of the comm tank, but don't want to put females unnessecarily into another tank or into breeding trap. Your help would be greatly appreciated
Caryl
They will be very fat and you should be able to see the eyes of the fry through the belly. Her vent should alsdo be dark. The males may be chasing her more than normal as well but it is hard to tell with guppies
dee_jay_01
Put her in a Fry Net with some JAVA Moss for the Fry to hide in. Most guppies that we have had, have them late afternoon to late night. So put her in a Fry Net if you have one and wake up the next morning to possibly find some fry. Faran
Pretty dang sure one of my new females is ready to pop. Now, she has a dark spot on her underside which I am assuming is her "vent" as I can't see it on the other females and haven't seen it on her before. What do you mean the eyes are visible through the belly and how do you actually know it's time?
