marie-na
i'm new to this, but...i'm looking for a clam for my hubbies birthday. Does anyone have any contacts, or know where i can get one from.
Brianemone
lucky guy go talk to the local fish store and order one through them, murray will help you, and then theyll order the clam from the importer (reef or steve) you might want to put a wanted ad in the private trade and exchange section as well im sure he'd prefer a crocea clam too

chimera
nah, that's pretty funny! should change your screen name to mariemone though while you're on the subject, what are clams worth and are they that easy to obtain? i'd be keen on one too at some stage. brian - why dont you get rid of everything from your tank and just get a Tridacna gigas  Actually,... even pies/reefs tank would be too small for this one (can grow to a maximum 1.5 metres!) i've read if you get one, try and get it still attached to a rock as removal can rip the byssus gland which can cause bacterial infection leading to death. I think gigas, maximas, and deseras are relatively easy to get. But those croceas are impossible to find. Reef had some in last shipment. Not many though. That was the first time there have been any in for almost a couple of years, I think. Croceas are I think the nicest by far. Prices? not too sure.
