littlebush
We have just accidentally bred our bettas, and will be needing to feed the babies very shortly, is there an alternative to insuforia we can use, as we weren't prepared! Also, we took this video whilst the eggs were developing, 33 hours condensed into 8 minutes.
alanmin4304
You can use the smallest variety of brine shrimp nuplii available from www.brineshrimpdirect.com or vinegar eels, or microworms.
littlebush
Unfortunatly because of the accidental nature of the breeding, I need something by tomorrow or Friday (thankfully I'm off to Palmerston North and WetPets tomorrow so will see if they have anything). Adrienne
green water = infusoria. try a farm water trough or as an alternative get a banana skin and or lettuce leaf, put in a container and add boiling water. leave in a sunny spot. Fry won't start to feed for three days. Microworms work however only as a very short term proposition as a combination of lack of protein and the fact the fry skim the bottom of the tank cause the ventrals to not develop. Then it is onto hatched brine shrimp and from there to very fine micro powdered foods. They need high quality food and good water conditions to develop properly. herpguy
infusoria is the easiest stuff to create.. just get some trough water, and add it to a clear glass container with great lighting, then add some liquid fert (organic.. so non toxic) or make your own, then just wait a few days for it to boom (booms faster in less than 2 litres.. i used coke bottles)

What the hell was that bug thing laying eggs in the bubble nest? A mosquito? Freaked me right out!
