Pickles
HiWe're fairly new to this. We have a 65 litre tank with a Tank Maid Filter Pro 700. It's been cycled and we've just moved the fish (red comets) from the 15 litre tank tonight. The filter is at one end (where the glass lid has a space for the cord), but there's quite a strong current and the fish seem to be being pulled to that end. My question is, does the position of the pump matter? Would it be better on the back wall instead of the side? Does it need to be more centred? Caryl
It does look like you have a good flow going there . This will slow down over time as the filter media starts to clog up with detritus. You could put a small rock in front of it, to break up the ebb and flow a bit. Adding more plants will also break up the flow and give the fish somewhere to rest without being dragged towards the filter. The filter is well positioned, you could raise it a bit if you like.
