kiwis
I have 4 54w tubes but are sick of the cost in replacing bulbs and having them fade over time. What's the verdict on LED lighting? good or bad?
Adrienne
T8 tubes?Depends on what plants you have as to what your options are with regards to LED, and also the height of the tank.
kiwis
I have T5 tubes - comparing to something like this, https://trademe.co.nz/1006156101i have a variety of plants with a depth of 60cm
Adrienne
I haven't tried those. I replaced my T5 tubes with LED strips. They have adaptors so you can use the same reflectors and the strips clip in like the tubes. I got them from Aquarays - aquarays.co.nz I had red tiger lotus, anubias, crypts, twisted val, and some glosso in the tank which was 60cm deep and they seemed to work just fine. jasonnz
I use LED setup from Raymond at AquaRays - brilliant, better than tubes and the results are 5 x better than tubes.I would get in touch with him to be honest. You'll never look back.
