Moving Fish to different Pond - now or in Spring?

Being nice and wet and easy to dig I've just completed a larger pond which has been filled for nearly a week. I have numerous sleepy fish in a smaller pond that I'd like to move to the bigger pond - when's the right time to do this?

I get the feeling that maybe moving them right now while they're hybernating could upset and stress them?

Thanks in advance for some helpful advice :)

I don't know what the 'correct' thing is to do but I would leave it until it has warmed up somewhat.

This will also give the plants a bit more time to establish their roots so be less likely to get pulled out by the fish tugging on them.

There will also be more algae and microscopic stuff for the fish to eat when they come out of their semi-hibernation.
