Insectile
How long does silicon last when unopened? I need to patch up a tank of mine that is in the process of being set up. I have a tube of silicon I purchased roughly a year ago for another project but never got around to using it. Tube is still unused and unopened, will it be safe to use or should I chuck it and get some fresh stuff?
calculator
I have always worked with, if it will squeze out of the tube it is still good. I didn't think it went off without contact with air, and when it 'goes bad' doesn't it just set, so you can't get it out of the tube any way? Insectile
What I was thinking, was maybe after a certain of time, it may not be able to adhere very well when you go to use it or may come unstuck or something? I dunno, it was just a thought and before I did use it I thought I should check first
camtang
I think there will be an expire date on it. If it is within that, its all good .

Insectile
^^ hahaha, well I couldn't find an expiry/use-by date anywhere on the packaging so am I right in assuming I can go ahead and use it?
