Discusguru
You can try adding epsom salt into the tank. Could be caused by internal flagellate . Ron
discusnoob
awesome thanks I have read you are supposed to bath them until they turn over (sideways) is this correct? And it can take up to 30 minutes or more...? im actually salt bathing him now in a seperate quarantine tank, ill also give all the fish some peas for fibre for the next few days
Discusguru
Salt bath don't actually help. It's mainly for dislodging parasite on the fish body. 30 mins is way too long. If the salt solution is strong they should turn over within one minute. I wouldn't do it more than 2 minute. Put epsom salt in your tank. discusnoob
so for constipation just try and feed them all fiber, salt the tank, and take my chances at that?
alanmin4304
He just said salt would not help---add epsom salts to the tank. Epsom salts was was grandma used for constipation (magnesium sulphate not sodium chloride) Trust the man, he is an expert on discus.
Discusguru
Alan is right. Salt and Epsom salt is totally different. Like Alan say Salt (sodium chloride), epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)
