SamH
A low tech planted aro tank would be wicked, a dream come true even. Anyone kept aros in this sized tank before?
disgustipated
if you're gonna do something, you may as well do it right
Fruju
No point getting an aro, they outgrow that size tank and they are hard to move on at a large size. Don't be 'that guy' haha. Depending how you organise the plants you can reduce plant removal.
calculator
I keep swords with my cichlids, I find as long as they are well attached to driftwood, and grown into substrate, they don't get dragged around.
SamH
What about a Jardini? Don't they only grow up to 60cm?
David R
davids black aro is still pretty small for an aro and he's had it a while.. My aro has been growing about 2" a month since being moved to the big tank. Blacks might not get quite as thick and solid as silvers but they still should reach 30" in a proper set up. A jardini would be the best bet, but you'd probably be looking at a solo specimen, and even then IMO the tank isn't really big enough. My 45cm green looked big in my 180x75x60 tank, I wouldn't have wanted it in anything less.

I kept a jardini in my 680L for a while, but sold him quite early on as I felt that he would get too big for it, plus it didn't want to live with much else. Try bichirs. Good mixers with big fish generally. Or get a datnoid, they are more entertaining.

SamH
:spop: This tank had a huge crack in it, wasn't going to take a risk with it right above my bed so I sold it to someone with the knowledge and time to repair it. Stand currently houses a 90x45x45 with angel fry with another 90cm tank soon to follow.
