M@.
so I got my first Betta the other day! (Wednesday) except... when I got him home I noticed he had a few spots of what looks like white spot on his tail. I salted the water straight away (1g/L) He hasn’t gotten any worse, but hasn’t gotten any better either. Is there anything else I can be doing for him? I have some Wunder Tonic, but not sure about using that as there are shrimps in the tank with him, and I’m not sure how they would react to it (doesn’t say anything about invertebrates on the label, but I think blue=copper=bad for inverts?) Dr A
The ole' Almond Leaf thing seems to be useful, if not for white spot at least for their over-all health.
M@.
Thanks! Havent heard of that one before, but it cant hurt to give it a go! Dont think my local will have any, so might have to wait till the weekend for me to give it a shot
alexyay
What temp do you have him at that you can have shrimp with him?
M@.
the tank is sits around 24 (have a pre-set '25' degree heater)
Trilobite
You could float the betta in an icecream container in his tank so it acts as a little quarantine tank. That way you wont have to worry about using heaps of meds or risking your shrimp.
M@.
He's looking heaps perkier now! might try taking some pics of him if I can get him to flare nicely. Has been doing it a little more now he is feeling better
alexyay
I've read raising the temperature can help but I have a feeling your shrimp may not like that?
M@.
yea, I had that thought, but I have a pre-set heater - the shrimps are suposedly fine up to
