FionaK
I purchased 2 juvenile turq discus and their color is starting to come through strong now. One is very strong in color and swims in front of the other almost as if it's stopping the other one getting round the tank and yet they do move round tank. (sounds Irish i know) Where the other one has dropped it's color quite dramatically because of this display from the first. Can any one explain what's going on?? It looks like a show of dominance but there is no fighting at all. I've tried looking up courtship but this display isn't shown. Theres no shimmering or body shaking as what i have seen as courtship. I do have 3 green severum in tank with them. They all get on well. Any advise greatly appreciated please
Godly3vil
This is a common problem when discus aren't kept in groups, remember in nature they a schooling fish that can be found in groups as large as a 1000 discus. Ideally you should get more discus and get rid of the severums as they are of completely different temperaments.
FionaK
Thanks godlyevil. So this is a show of dominance then?

FionaK
Ahhh. I put the severum n there to break any tension that maybe between the 2 discus. Thankyou for that :bggrn:
