fychan
Hey all, Fairly new setup 400L tank, been running for ~6 months, with a brown tang and the bristletooth tangs being some of the earliest inhabitants. We added a couple of bicolour Chromis yesterday, and while our bristletooth has always been very bossy towards all the other fish (especially the engineer goby - to the point he's earned the name "bully") he's gone absolutely beserk at the chromis - and one in particular. He chased it behind some liverock and wouldn't let it come out for the first 6 hours (until the lights went out) and is still lunging at it from across the tank every time he catches a glimpse of it. He(?)'s a very pretty fish, beautiful blue speckled with yellow highlights to his fins - but if he carries on like this he'll be looking for a new home. Anyone got any pointers? :-/

livingart
if you can take him out of the tank for a couple of hours then reintroduce him can sometimes work he will be the same with any other new inhabitants, territorial issue - doesn't like new players on his patch
fychan
Thanks peops. I may stick him in the sump tank during next week's water change if things don't improve this week then. For the moment, I've put a mirror tile on the other side of the tank to keep him busy for a bit
