Sophia
Ever seen this? I noticed one of my ember tetras was swollen and seemingly a bit aggravated, also has taken a cloudy appearance compared to his clear mates.
Sophia
I've read my fishyfishbook and the only thing it could be is dropsy. Does anyone agree or disagree? I haven't had this in a fish before so would appreciate any comments.
Caryl
Dropsy has a distinct pine cone look
Sophia
it has everything but pineconing so far :fshi:
Caryl
I could not tell from the video but if a fish is ill it can over-produce the slime coat so appear odd. Constipation could account for the swelling so perhaps it is unwell due to constipation?
Sophia
Today it looked like there was a scale coming off and he was twitching more than before so I decided to send him to clovey heaven. Also saw the killies eyeing it so I didn't want it to get attacked by those naughty buggers, they can't be trusted.
Adrienne
Periodically one of my ember tetra will do exactly as you are describing - no idea why though.

Sophia
that's ok then, at least I didn't kill a fish that was likely to get better. :tears:
