Janey
Hello everyone! I have been following the posts on this site for about 4 months, and thought it was about time I introduced myself! My name is Jane, I'm 24 and live in Wellington. I have been keeping fish for about 5 years, and am a member of the Kapi-Mana Aquarium Club. I am currently running a four foot tank, which has in it: Blue gourami's, congo tetras, golden barbs, clown loaches, bronze cats, bristlenoses, a silver shark and a plecostomus. I also have a two foot tank running with swordtails and a few odd tetras that are survivors from schools of tetras that I have had in the past. It was great to have the opportunity to attend the FNZAS conference in June and meet people from all the clubs around NZ, and I am looking forward to Labour Weekend in Napier, to which 8 of our members are going. That's all for now, have a nice night everyone )
Caryl
Hiya Jane, about time you introduced yourself. I have seen you lurking on-line a few times  We'll catch up with you in Napier as 10 of our club are going. I like congo tetras but have not had too much luck with keeping them over the years. Wrong tank conditions I think.
Pegasus
Hi There Jane, A warm welcome to you. Janey
Thanks for the welcomes I really like the Congo Tetras, I am planning on getting another four females soon, as I have four males and two females. One of the males was actually born in the tank and managed to avoid getting eaten while he grew, he is now the biggest male! Maybe I should try breeding them, although I haven't had much luck with breeding fish. My oldest fish is my male Blue Gourami (or three spot gourami?), who I have had for four years, he did have a mate for the first three years, but he bet her up so badly that I couldn't save her . I replaced her with two females, and they all seem to live together peacefully now. Enough rambling, I must do some work! Have a nice day everyone.
