nzfishkeeper
I have just moved my fish into a larger 300L aquarium, The current fish being a few angel fish, a range of tetra's, a few peppered corydoras. I was wondering how many bristlenose catfish you would recommend? I understand they only from to about 15cm? Are they OK to keep with clown loachs? Because I plan on getting a few in a few weeks. David R
Bristlenoses and clowns would be fine together, but unless you're planning on upgrading from the 300L tank I'd recommend going for one of the smaller species of loach instead of clowns. nzfishkeeper
OK great. Do you know of any smaller fish that eat snails? Would the bristlenose? How many bristlenose could I safely have in a 300l tank?
Adrienne
Dwarf chain loaches wil eat the smaller snails, bristlenose eat some algae.

Adrienne
A group of 5 would be good, thats what I have in both my 85 litre and 450 litre tanks. Enough to school together. They are not big loaches at all but they are pretty cool to look at. http://fishkeeper.co.uk/site/databank/d ... ain-loach-

David R
I think most loaches will eat snails, the dwarf ones certainly do, and I'm pretty certain the pakastani/striata/yoyo/etc types do as well. You could always check loaches.com to make sure.
F15hguy
Striata (Zebra) (8-9cm) loaches are great medium sized snail munchers...
