nzfishkeeper
Does anyone know if there are any good places to collect some small gravel for an aquarium in Palmerston north or around that area? Or alternatively around dannevirke, or if there are any good rivers on the way up from wellington? Hopefully I might be able to get some when i go up there tomorrow. F15hguy
ummm..... most river gravel available in the North island comes from that area, go collect your own, just don't get caught
nzfishkeeper
yeah, I went there but there was only large gravel around 20mm, I was hoping to get some smaller stuff.

nzfishkeeper
25kgs of river sand from bunnings for $10 OK, I will have a look at that, When I went a few weeks ago they only had large stones and no sand. Maybe they ran out of stock?
F15hguy
try a local landscape supply shop, we sell 20L river gravel at work for $7 should be heaps cheaper than that.
