Caryl
Here is a link to my Photobucket albums from our recent trip to Melbourne. There are reptiles and other things we can't get here in several of the sub albums. The link goes to my Melbourne album. Look down the right hand side (or wherever depending on your setup) for the sub albums for places like the zoo, aquarium, Healesville Sanctuary and Upmarket Aquariums - a shop neat the Victoria Markets. They kindly allowed us to take photos. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v144/ ... ct%202012/

Caryl
Quite frankly, we found the aquarium a disappointment. Very expensive for what you get. It also looked old and tired.
Sophia
isn't about 20 or 30 $AUD to get in? that's heaps
Caryl
AU$35 (NZ$45.78) for one adult. We had seen it all in just over 2 hours whereas we were 5 hours in the museum (AU$10) and 5 1/2 at the zoo for AU$26.10 each.
F15hguy
thats a bit pricey. got to see a cool animal park in Cairns (Tourist prices) for only $15AUD each (and $3 for bus) spent a day on the reef for $80... and that had EVERYTHING (including a Croc like a bus and a snake room with all the poisonous snakes and a Water dragon enclosure to die for) its probably on the way out, less local fundng. 91 ZERO
That's interesting you found Melbourne Aquarium disappointing as I don't think I have heard a complimentary comment about it. I know my partner and I were disappointed with it too when we went there a year or so ago - or more "underwhelmed" might be a better word. The most interesting thing I saw was the ultra poisonous Arrow Frogs......
