ke70wag
Yeah that sounds similar to mine and gets really bad when i decrease the flow rate, just doesnt seem right ?
F15hguy
check the impeller is sitting properly and the rubbers on the ends of the shaft are not cracked or damaged. most common causes of rattles (I just can't be bothered fixing the old one)
ke70wag
Has any one had any of the 06 fluval range of canisters? When you decrease the flow is it normal to get noise from the impellor
F15hguy
check the 0-ring on the tap and on the canister (if that model has one) found my rattle (403 btw) it was a tiny air leak in the seal near the top of the canister
Barnacle
With a small canister filter i have i noticed it had a bit of a rattle when i first used it. In the end i decided that the rotor/magnet thing was spinning around in air. Pulled the top off the filter, and squirted water where the impeller sits. Turned it back on and it was quieter. Cant hurt to try that? Hopefully i made some sense
