Sophia
I am thinking (if they relist it) of buying this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =510394865 but as I've never had an all in one tank before I'm wondering about the filter media. Do you have to buy the properly branded sponges or do other people use their own types of media such as noodles, etc? Whichever stuff you use, what do you use and why do you like it, or not? This is the filter http://www.juwel-aquarium.de/en/Product ... eeb971dqo1 thanks
Godly3vil
I'm pretty sure you can use whatever media you want in the jewel filters, don't quote me on that though. Isn't that a pretty high price for a 2nd hand Rekord tank, I am pretty sure I have seen them brand new cheaper than that?
Sophia
I'm not sure on the price but you might be right. HFF have a Rekord 800 with a stand that is usually $779 down to $559 so I don't think a 600 would be less than $400, however Redwood have one without a stand for $230, Pets Unlimited have one without a stand for $250., You have got me thinking though, I was right to wait a bit longer in case the price comes down. Still, not having to arrange a stand is a convenience that has to be paid for. hmmmmm :smot:

Phantom
I have a few of those filters, they work well. I just load them up with the jewel bio media and then throw in a bag of purigen on top. The bio media containers can easily unclip if you wanted to put other stuff in them and have it fit nicely.
