henward Posted July 24, 2012 Report Share Posted July 24, 2012 i have owned 2 jars before. agro level towards BDs are minimal, plecos are left alone generally, in both cases, no harassment. hiding spaces are good though. in fact, tinfoil barbs, silver dollars are all fine too! they are too fast for the jardinii. even then, they are quite robust, so the odd bite is fine, lets the jar have an outlet. also confuses the jar if you have a few, they dont know who to attack, basic aro distraction technique. you will get the odd jar that is persistently agro though. my red, i discovered is very agro towards other fish that get into its territory. jar, generally is more agro than any aro species. bottom dwellers should be fine! so you thinking of getting a jar??!?! yeah! arowanas! Bought mine as a baby for $220. Haven't seen one in a little while but assume they run for the same price. Seen some larger ones for around $300. But they are hard to move on.
