Ymir
I am getting a 900 longx600 widex500 high tank very shortly. I am keeping african cichlids in it, planted cypts and anabias species. The plants do not require high light. Would people recommend a 600 or 900 long lighting unit? Below is the link to the lighting unit I am looking at. I am figuring that having 4 bulbs could make for the lack the lighting units lenght???? :dunno: :dunno: http://www.marinedepot.com/Sunlight_Supply_Tek_Light_High_Output_Fluorescent_Lighting_Fixtures_24_Inch_T5_Fluorescent_Light_Fixtures-Sunlight_Supply_Inc-SL2111-FILTFIT54U-vi.html any thoughts would be greatly appreciated Malcolm
supasi
900 would be nicer but you could definitely use the 600s. With the 600 you will get shady areas on the ends if you put the light in the centre. I have the same on a 900 wide tank. I have only Anubias and Crypts and have no issues. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51675 this grows like crazy so it cant be all bad. BTW, the only stupid question is the one you dont ask.
supasi
Oh, just read the actual link that you posted. I only use a twin 600 T8 hood on the tank I mentioned so using a T5 would be even better. HTH
