Hi from the Waikato

Nana & JJ

Recommended Posts

Robyn (Nana) and Janine (JJ) here. After having a display tank set up for about five months. (Neons, catfish, red tailed shark, tiger barbs, guppy and platy) JJ thought it would be nice to try breeding the guppies and platy. We now have the main tank and four small tanks for the breeding cycle. I've been reading posts on this site for info and finally got around to joining last weekend to ask advice.

I would just like to thank everyone who use the site. Printed off many page to use as reference and look forward to reading many more.

Cheers

Hi guys, welcome to the site, hope you enjoy, learn and participate.

Pity you didn't join up a fortnight ago and you'd have been able to go to the Waikato BBQ.

Never mind.

There's a good club over there, find ROB and ask him about it.

Nothing like having live backup

hi Robyn and Jannie

There is a waikato aquarium club meeting this Sunday . It is at Link House which is next to the church at the River Rd end of Te Aroha st . The meeting starts at 7pm but the doors are open from 6:30pm . This meeting we will be veiwing a couple of fishy videos along with some discussion on the upcoming tank crawl on the 16th of april . Tanks crawls are something that i recomend people to participant in as you get to veiw different types of tanks and get a few ideas . I am always interested in what other club members are keeping.

Anyway i hope to see you at the meeting .

Send myself , Rob or polgara a pm if you want any other information about the club

Happy fishkeeping

Dave

Hi and welcome Nana and JJ. How lovely to share a hobby over the generations. My mother and daughter are enthusiasts too and it is great to talk FISH. (I am fast becoming a fish bore and I am sure Maree my 15 year old daughter is the same...she talks "fish" with her friends at school she thinks they think she is strange! (huh! fancy that!)

Good luck with the breeding sounds like you have approached this thing from the right angle by doing all your research first, I wish we had done the same but it is all systems go now (although my husband will have a fit when he returns from his weekend away to find we have bought 4 fish tanks in his absence and have 2 more we are bidding on (ooooops) :D
