Vervo
Our tank has perfect water parameters, im totally at a loss to what's causing this. So for now, i just want to know if its fish tuberculosis. Two of our baby discus are under the sponge filter, gone dark colour, and have bent spine, with extreme difficulty swimming. Sometimes they dark around in a panic. Their dorsal fins and anal fins are clamped. Is this Fish Tuberculosis (Mycobacterium)? Its pretty important i find this out fast as it is transferable to humans. Our tank conditions are perfect. pH: 6.8 Temp: 30 deg Ammonia : 0 Nitrite : 0 Nitrate : 0 110L tank. 20 Juvenal discus max 5cm 90% water change every single day without fail. Water is exact parameters of tank before put into tank. I have looked around a few websites, and these do seem like the symptoms of fish TB. thanks for your time
GrahamC
Well, if you suspect this your whole tank is at risk. I would have thought you need to remove these fish and put them into a hospital tank. If they have sores perhaps swab them and see if medlabs can stain for acid fast bacillae. Joe
If it is tuberculosis, I would destroy the fish and sterilise the tank. As the fish have bent spines, and I assume this cannot be reversed, nobody will want to buy deformed discus so to destroy them seems the best option IMO. HTH and I'm really sorry about your situation :tears:
