zuri08
i know about the infertility of them but have read on some sites that they have succesfully hatched but need really high temps and lots of aeration i think a 10 litre tank would need 200lh aeration or something but have now sold the group for 230 anyways so onto next breeding project. wee2
well thats a bit mean, he is allowed to try if he wants and if they do hatch what will you say then? not being mean. the blood parrot is kind of man-made cichlid, they do not have ability to breed. Blood parrots will attempt to breed in an aquarium and some pairs attempt to breed very frequently (every few weeks). What most people find is that a pair will court, clean a nest site and then lay eggs. However, the eggs do not hatch in many cases. The parents will continue to care for the eggs for several days until the eggs turn white with fungus and then the parents will likely eat the eggs.
