fish_fingers
Right, so I have 2x pairs of Leleupi who dig, and dig, and dig but don't seem to be producing the "goods". Both pairs live at opposite ends of their tank with their own respective nests with plenty of space between them. What can/should I be doing differently to promote successful breeding? Should the pairs be in their own tanks or a bigger tank? Your thought please.

bigfishhead
nice, the best part of fish keeping is to actually breed some fish :happy2:
ryanjury
Good work Only advice I could have offered you if they haven't spawned was to change something, take tank mates away, add tank mates, change tanks move the tank around, do a water change add ornatments that sort of thing it is usually a change that will trigger them into breeding.. Failing that give up and put them in a dark tank in the corner and forget about them, as soon as you do that they are guaranteed to breed... Good luck on the fry they should be like any other tang to raise so should be relatively easy, they will be quite sensitive initially though. NZ_Fishboy
They are, They will lay in a cave, shell or they can also breed on substrate if needed
fish_fingers
Right, eggs have gone, hopefully they hatched and not eaten, Mother is still being very protective around where the eggs were and has dug another pit/nest. I have started the "fry diet" and shall have to wait and see what I find in the coming days/weeks. :cofn:
NZ_Fishboy
Leleupi are very good parents, so most likely they have hatched and you will be able to keep the fry with the parents for quite a long period of time
