jamie1942 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Share Posted August 8, 2011 was interested in bilbos comments and have a question i have five discus in a 5foot tank in my garage trying to get a couple to pair off this has a bare bottom and i do weekly water changes which seems to work ok i have three large bio sponge filters in this tank should i clean them all each time i do a water change in there own water i believe or am i then losing some of the bacteria media Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ryanjury Posted August 8, 2011 Report Share Posted August 8, 2011 Clean them when they are dirty, but if you have 3 then maybe alternate cleaning them in case you kill off too much bacteria but that shouldn't be an issue if you clean them in tank water etc. If you have them in a bare bottom and do weekly water changes sucking up any crud then they probably dont get that dirty anyway.
