boppoly
Hi there can anybody recommend a species of frog to start off with. Preferably a hardy one for animal care students to look after but one that will make a nice exhibit in an exo terra vivarium. Also a breeder to get them from Thanks
Insect Direct
Can only really get bells frogs (both species similar and fairly hardy) and brown tree frogs in NZ. Exoterra is minimal for bell frogs. given bell frogs size (upto 11cm) you need robust plants/decorations. Brown tree frogs are smaller (upto 4.5cm), medium to large exo terra is perfect. Being smaller they tend not to destroy plants as much so you can go all out with planting ferns and so on. But the tree frogs seem a little more temperamental, or at least i think so. Is completelty out of season now. Trademe may be worth keeping an eye on, but unfortunately wont be many around until spring/summer now.
