I also bought one because it looked [to me] more like an Amphilophus species than a FH. I made a thread on MFK about it (click here) and most people seemed to agree it was an Amphilophus of some sort, possibly a hybrid or possibly A. amarillo. I got it from Bird bun in Henderson where I saw the hugh GT. the staff told me it is a flowerhorn but from the colour and the shape of head, nothing close to any flowerhorn spicies. the pattern layout is pretty close to an Amphilophus so hope it is a real one.
