I have a 24 inch by 15 inch by 12 inch tank I've scouted some pet stores and have narrowed down what I might want to stick in my tank to: Guppies Minnows - even if they do look like pugs Tetras of some sort Catfish - probably a plecostomus Possibly those pale fish with no eyes. Dunno Which one/s of these would be best for someone new to this, like me? Is there a chance that any of the fish in my list would particularly dislike another type of fish in my list? Which ones would have to live in a heated tank? Would they all be able to live in a heated tank? Could I feed them all the same thing? Caryl Posted January 18, 2005 Report Share Posted January 18, 2005 A plecostomus is totally unsuitable as it grows way too big for a tank that size. The rest are all fine for beginners. The pale fishes with no eyes are blind cave tetras. I would not put guppies in with tetras as the tetras would tend to nibble the guppy tails. Minnows can go in heated or unheated tanks but the rest are tropical. At this time of year though they would be fine inside without a heater (assuming it is around 18C). livebearer_breeder Posted January 18, 2005 Report Share Posted January 18, 2005 I was thinking the exact same thing? they look nothing like pugs, pugs for one are dogs that walk on earth and breath air, along with pushed in faces, and i think they are rather cute.
