"This fund is to benefit FNZAS affiliated members who have been affected by the Christchurch earthquakes. Applications for financial assistance can be submitted in writing to the FNZAS secretary. Each application will be considered by the FNZAS executives and funds will be fairly distributed on a case by case basis."

Many insurance policies do not cover aquariums, plants or fish lost (or some equipment). The fund is to help those, when they are ready, to take up the hobby again and replace those aquatic things not covered by insurance or EQC.
