hi im wondering what is the best and cheapest way for lighting in a fish room for multiple tanks 20sh as i dont wanna buy lights for each different tank thanks

A single 20 watt energy saver in the ceiling and a cheap torch for when you want to look into the tanks.

Otherwise, a couple 4 foot dual fluoros should work fine, and be cheap.

I used 4' fluro's and only enough to supply enough light to see ok. You don't want too much light in a fishroom as it makes algae grow faster.

You do want the lights positioned so you can still see well in the tank when you have your arms over the side. I made the mistake of putting the lights in the center between the rows of tanks and had to move them as I would block the light when standing in front of the tank - duh!

as they are in a dark room wouldnt fish lose there colour?? if i dont have lights in there (aqua tubes)

Not really. And does it matter anyway? You're clearly not doing this because you enjoy sitting and staring at them for hours/day.
