Joshlikesfish
I was just about to move my spotted bristlenose to another tank to attempt a spawning but upon checking the caves in their current tank I found a male with fry. The fry looked like they didn't have egg sacks. I was wondering if anybody knew how long it takes from being an egg to consuming the egg sack as I want to get the dates right to register a breeding (if I get that far). I understand different temperatures can change the time it takes but I was hoping somebody could give me a rough estimate. Thanks
Sophia
Why not just start the 30 days 30 days from today? It can only be a matter of days to a week surely - is it that critical?
Joshlikesfish
I don't know how critical the system is so I'm being safe
Zayne
have they started to colour?
Joshlikesfish
have they started to colour? They seemed quite dark but its hard to tell inside the cave
ryanjury
The system is not crutial If they have lost their egg sacks then wait 3 weeks and you would have kept them alive for 30 days and register the breeding..

Joshlikesfish
They were kicked out of the cave today. Seen a good 30+ Not bad for what I think is the males first spawn! Don't bristlenose usually kick the fry out after 4 weeks from the spawn?
